The next book in the Linda
Baldwin series features many of the characters from
the first along with a cast of new characters. Linda
is drawn into the no-man’s-land of a high stakes
US Senate campaign and finds her career, her life and
the values she holds dear beaded in the cross-hairs
of the warring factions. As the political calendar marches
toward election day, she races to uncover the facts,
mining the fool’s gold of political truth at the
risk of unearthing a dirty secret about herself. Holding
the fate of an election and her career in hand, she
must decide how far she is willing to go to protect
her life, her career and reputation. She must choose
between two sets of lies, half-truths, and distortions;
between two candidates who view her as little more than
an expendable pawn. Ultimately, she must decide if a
career is worth sacrificing her black and white ideals
about truth to the thin gray lines that define the boundaries
of the world she inhabits.
